INTRODUCTION

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH-CURRICULUM

DAVID MARSHALL. Edinburgh (Scotland), 1942.

1955-60 Studied at the Royal Navy Officer Academy.

1960 Emigrated to Canada.
Studied at the University of Toronto.
Worked as a copywriter with McCann Erickson Advertising.

1961-1962 From December 1961 to March 1962, he travelled from Canada to Colombia by motorbike. This was his first contact with the Hispanic world.

1962-1964 Lived in Colombia and worked as Assistant Construction Manager, which enabled him to get to know the world of metals and welding.
Founded the first audio-visual language school in Medell as a joint-venture with the University.
Livestock farming near Cartagena.

1964 Returned to London.
Course in non-ferrous metals with British Oxygen.

1965 Arrived in Spain.
Agricultural farming in Mijas and creation of his first sculptures.

1972 Set up his workshop in Malaga for industrial designs, trophies, tableware, corporate gifts, decorative objects (lamps, trays, tables, candelabras, games, etc). Exclusive collections for Christian Dior and Artespa. Moved this venture to Seville in 1981.
Exhibitions in Madrid, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Paris, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Cologne, Seville, Florida, Malaga, Granada, Ghent (Belgium), Montsaraz (Portugal) etc.
He currently boasts a permanent gallery in Benahavis, alongside an artistic centre, and is working on new lines in wood. He also has galleries in Berlin, Brussels, Florida, New York, Seville, Copenhagen, Honfleur (France)
